The next major update for Albion Online, Rift of the Realms, revamps the Faction War, turning it into an active, ever-changing campaign where every player can have an impact. From powerful Faction Fortresses to a new network of Provinces, Rift of the Realms will usher in a new era of conflict across the Royal Continent of Albion. The territorial mechanics of the Faction War are reimagined with a brand-new system of Provinces. These serve as gathering points for players in a Faction, making it easier to find battles and objectives across the Royal Continent. Players earn supplies for their side by participating in faction activities in the provinces, and they can influence the course of the war. The culmination is a dramatic battle for the faction's fortress, where the attacking side attempts to besiege and capture it. The success or failure of this attack determines the shape of the larger war in the provinces, where each player has a specific role to play. Faction vehicles will be available, making it easier for players to reach the front lines.
Provinces are reshaping the front lines of the Faction War, providing clear conflict zones for players to find action on ever-changing battlegrounds. The new Faction War Map shows which provinces are under attack, as well as the current state of battle, allowing players to see where their efforts are most needed. As provinces fall, heroes on the front lines push back against the invaders, and a constant shift in power shapes the Kingdom Continent.
By completing Faction War objectives in a conflict zone, you earn supplies for your side, which determine the success or failure of a province's attack. Brave warriors rush into the thick of battle in a desperate quest for glory, and if the attackers win, a massive siege begins.
